My husband and I have encouraged our kids to try as many activities as they want. Some of them, they have loved. Some of them, they’ve hated. But my husband has always had one rule they must follow: You must finish what you start.
I haven’t always been on board with that.
My oldest, Isaac, hated soccer when he was six because he didn’t like to run.
“He doesn’t want to go. Don’t make him,” I’d say when Isaac was dragging his feet to the car before practice. He finished the season, but didn’t go back the next year.
